What is 5G:
5G is the fifth generation cellular technology. Its previous versions are 1G, 2G, 3g, and 4G, respectively. All we need to know about 5G is that it is the latest form of technology that provides us with higher speed and less data transfer time. 1G gave us phones, 2G gave us the use of text messages, 3G brought us online while 4G provides us with the speed that we enjoy today. But as we know, the number of mobile phone users are increasing day by day, 4G is considered to be not enough for this type of load. Therefore, we have been introduced by 5G technology in the market. Why was 5G needed:
As mentioned above, 4G was enough for handling the load. But now a day the number of mobile phone users on the network has been increased tremendously. This increase is putting enormous pressure and burden on 4G to handle. In this case, there was a dire need to introduce something new in the market. For, this purpose, 5G was introduced.
How does 5G decrease the load?
5G was introduced to reduce the burden of the 4G network. Now let’s see how it’s done. 4G has been operating under a specific range of radiofrequency. But as the number of mobile phones on a network is increasing, the area is starting to become crowded. Carriers can only hold a limited amount of data on a specific frequency range. So, after pressing a lot of data in this range, 4G becomes slow for its users. For this purpose, 5G comes to help. 5g helps the busy network by making some new space for the users on the web. It operated on shorter millimeter waves that fall between 30 and 300 GHz. This section has not been used for any device before and opening it up means more space and more bandwidth for the users on the network.
But this thing comes with a disadvantage that the millimeter waves cannot pass through buildings and are absorbed by trees and rainwater. These obstacles stop the signals from traveling further.
Small Cell Network:
For treating interference from trees, buildings, and others, small cell network has been used. It consists of a large number of base stations in a small area that covers the whole territory. These base stations behave as a network for handling signals like a relay team for transmitting signals through the obstacles that block the signals. In this way, the smartphone does not have to go to the central station directly; instead, they can connect with base stations near to them. The mobile phone automatically connects to the next base station when the previous one gets out of its range. This gives us excellent help in transmitting signals without interfering them.
There are other issues as well that signals interfere with each other. For this purpose, other technologies like Beamforming and others.
Is 5G out yet?
5G is the fastest and latest type of internet medium. However, it’s not been entirely out yet. It is said to be entirely out in 2020. It is available currently by some companies in the US but not open to the whole country.
How fast is 5G:
As we know that 5G is the latest and newest type of cellular technology so we can clearly say that it is far better and quicker than 2G and 3G. However, we will be making a comparison between 4G and 5G to check how fast is 5G than 4G.

5G also gives reduced latency. According to the specification, there’s a maximum latency of 4 ms (milliseconds) on 5G while in case of 4G LTE today, it is of 20 ms.

Many people have been concerned about the effects of 5G on the health of human beings, animals, and plants. Some events have occurred that have shown that 5G may be having some harmful and dangerous effects for living beings. So, after some research, it has been seen that 5G signals are posing a serious threat to living beings and their lives.

Unlike other cellular technology, 5G networks use radio waves to transmit data. These radio waves operate on a higher frequency as compared to other cellular technology waves. This is done because 5G allows more devices to operate on its network as compared to 4G technology. This thing makes it different and also causes a different effect. In this way, we are surrounded by electromagnetic radiation all the time.
