How Fast is 5G

How fast is 5G?

Man has always been eager to achieve more in his life. He has used his mind to make his life better and meaningful. The thinking trait has led to the discovery of many new items that have helped him in making his like better. This work has led to many new inventions of science.

People usually face problems in their daily life. One such issue is communication. Communication has always been a task for humans. People who lived over vast distances haven’t had any chances of communicating with each other. His curiosity has led to the invention of communication devices and the internet.

Internet is just like a web that is covering the whole World and connecting it at the same time. Internet is considered as the greatest invention of science. It has countless advantages for humans. It connects the people that are on the opposite sides of the World. It even gets advanced by every day. This connectivity comes in different versions. Now a day, the latest network technology used is 5G.

What is 5G:

5G is the fifth generation cellular technology. Its previous versions are 1G, 2G, 3g, and 4G, respectively. All we need to know about 5G is that it is the latest form of technology that provides us with higher speed and less data transfer time. 1G gave us phones, 2G gave us the use of text messages, 3G brought us online while 4G provides us with the speed that we enjoy today. But as we know, the number of mobile phone users are increasing day by day, 4G is considered to be not enough for this type of load. Therefore, we have been introduced by 5G technology in the market. Its primary purpose is to decrease and share the burden of 4G. That is how we define 5G. We’ll be showing you the capabilities of 5G below.

Why was 5G needed:

As mentioned above, 4G was enough for handling the load. But now a day the number of mobile phone users on the network has been increased tremendously. This increase is putting enormous pressure and burden on 4G to handle. In this case, there was a dire need to introduce something new in the market. For, this purpose, 5G was introduced.

How does 5G decrease the load?

5G was introduced to reduce the burden of the 4G network. Now let’s see how it’s done. 4G has been operating under a specific range of radiofrequency.  But as the number of mobile phones on a network is increasing, the area is starting to become crowded. Carriers can only hold a limited amount of data on a specific frequency range. So, after pressing a lot of data in this range, 4G becomes slow for its users. For this purpose, 5G comes to help. 5g helps the busy network by making some new space for the users on the web. It operated on shorter millimeter waves that fall between 30 and 300 GHz. This section has not been used for any device before and opening it up means more space and more bandwidth for the users on the network.

But this thing comes with a disadvantage that the millimeter waves cannot pass through buildings and are absorbed by trees and rainwater. These obstacles stop the signals from traveling further.

Small Cell Network:

For treating interference from trees, buildings, and others, small cell network has been used. It consists of a large number of base stations in a small area that covers the whole territory. These base stations behave as a network for handling signals like a relay team for transmitting signals through the obstacles that block the signals. In this way, the smartphone does not have to go to the central station directly; instead, they can connect with base stations near to them. The mobile phone automatically connects to the next base station when the previous one gets out of its range. This gives us excellent help in transmitting signals without interfering them.

There are other issues as well that signals interfere with each other. For this purpose, other technologies like Beamforming and others.

Is 5G out yet?

5G is the fastest and latest type of internet medium. However, it’s not been entirely out yet. It is said to be entirely out in 2020. It is available currently by some companies in the US but not open to the whole country.

How fast is 5G:

As we know that 5G is the latest and newest type of cellular technology so we can clearly say that it is far better and quicker than 2G and 3G. However, we will be making a comparison between 4G and 5G to check how fast is 5G than 4G.

As we know, 5G is the latest and newest type of technology, and it is better than 4G technology.

Let us now get to some figures to prove it.

Firstly, as far as 4G is concerned, theoretically, 4G has a maximum speed of 100 Mbps (megabits per second) while 5G has a maximum speed of 10 Gbps (gigabits per second.) In other words, 5G is a hundred times faster than 4G at theoretical maximum speeds. This shows the comparison of rates of both 4G and 5G and clearly states that 5G is on a whole different level.

5G also gives reduced latency. According to the specification, there’s a maximum latency of 4 ms (milliseconds) on 5G while in case of 4G LTE today, it is of 20 ms.

Let’s look at a table for mentioning the differences between 4G and 5g technology.

Difference Between 4G and 5G:

4th Generation Cellular Technology(4G)5th Generation Cellular Technology(5G)
4G technology is the fastest technology of its time. It started in the late 2000s and changed the World.5G technology is simply more efficient, quicker, and smarter as compared to 4G technology, and it will probably be started entirely in 2020.
4G is up to 500 times faster than 3G. 5G technology is up to 100 times faster than 4G technology.
4G technology allowed high definition video calling and many other features on mobile phones.5G technology promises better internet speeds than the fastest home broadband network now a day.
The primary purpose of 4g technology was to do fast mobile browsing.5G technology will give us access to a lot of new features like new technologies, autonomic car diving, and many others.
4G technology is not enough to hold the number of devices on a network today. On an estimate, there are 4bn devices on a system today that is not enough for 4G.5G technology gives us a higher bandwidth by increasing the area. This is done because 5G technology can operate at a smaller frequency of signals while 4G technology cannot.
4G technology has a maximum speed of 100 Mbps(Megabits per second).5G technology has a maximum speed of 10 Gbps(Gigabits per second).
4G technology has a latency rate of 20 ms(milliseconds).5G technology has a much less latency rate of 20 ms(milliseconds).
4G technology is better than 3G technology.5G technology is better than 4G technology.
4G technology is safe in this aspect as it has a less number of customers on its network as compared to 5G.5G technology has a disadvantage of more efficiently getting exposed to risks as a higher number of customers are connected to it.

5G speed test:

We have done some research on the speed of the latest cellular technology, and it has amazed us. We people mostly prefer to use an ordinary 4G connection, and they enjoy its speed. But 5G technology is on a whole other level. It opens new doors for us. The cellular network technologies of today are no match for super-fast 5G technology.

We have done some surfing at Verizon 5G network and seriously, its speed has amazed us. After doing a speed test, we have seen that the speed crosses 1 Gbps that is not ordinary. It means that we can download a 1 GB file in one second. This is the amazing speed 5G technology has.

Is 5G dangerous?

Many people have been concerned about the effects of 5G on the health of human beings, animals, and plants. Some events have occurred that have shown that 5G may be having some harmful and dangerous effects for living beings.  So, after some research, it has been seen that 5G signals are posing a serious threat to living beings and their lives.

How is 5G different?

Unlike other cellular technology, 5G networks use radio waves to transmit data. These radio waves operate on a higher frequency as compared to other cellular technology waves. This is done because 5G allows more devices to operate on its network as compared to 4G technology. This thing makes it different and also causes a different effect. In this way, we are surrounded by electromagnetic radiation all the time. These waves are emitted from television and radio signals, as well as from a whole range of technologies, including mobile phones, and natural sources such as sunlight. These waves travel shorter distances through urban spaces, so 5G networks require more transmitters for the signals to travel.

Health Effects:

The electromagnetic radiations used by mobile phones and other wireless technologies have led the people to believe that these are causing harmful effects to their bodies and minds. Radio waves are found to be harming the brain cells and are causing cancer to the people. These facts are proved by the World Health Organization (WHO) and The Agency of Research on Cancer. They have shown that the radio waves used by mobile phones and other latest technologies are “Carcinogenic.” This means that these waves produce cancer-causing agents in the body that causes cancer.
